Ok, so this is a new site with lots of work to be done. Some stuff is intuitive, some isn't. If you are having ANY problems with it or just have some cool ideas about what we should add/change, p
So I am prettyyy excited about a few things...but before I do what I always do (jinx it and not follow through)...I thought I would share this. I saw it on CNN and I wonder what is more impressive...the scene on the beach in Atonement (one take, no edits)...or this which was done by students of the University of Quebec..in one take:
I’m on the train heading East to NYC from Rochester with Johnny sleeping in sweats to my left. Things have been progressing lately, for the positive. I see my eyes opening to my surroundings. I am starting to have a lot to say about a lot of things. I am remembering what it was like, years ago, to communicate without self induced censoring. You just can’t hold back. When you feel like may
Things are good here friends. In preparation for last Friday night's show in Rochester we decided to get some practices in and record them. In an attempt to spark the purpose and nature of this site, we have posted a few of the brand new songs from this practice...with the rest to follow. You can get
I am out here in East Hampton, enjoying the sun and doing some writing. Like the last weekend I was here, I have really enjoyed running through the winding roads that cut through the woods. It actually reminds me of the campground we stayed at during the Touch of Class tour, Wompatuck, but with multi-million dollar homes.
Im excited to see Our Lady Peace tonight at the Fillmore (Irving Plaza, not the Fillmore Hotel)
Seems like those post-grundge bands that I adore are making a surge. 3EB, Better than Ezra, OLP...
So even though I am postive that at some point in my career as a musician I am going to have a run in with Mr. Stephan Jenkins. I love 3eb and they were one of the first and most influencial bands I got into back in the late nineties (High School) and really threw me into songwriting...but my thoughts on SJ are bittersweet. I will say though that opening for them in 2003 "Within Arms Reach" tour is one of my favorite memories and a huge milestone in my music career. Maybe when I finish the song "Stephan Jenkins is an Asshole" you will understand.
Anyway, I missed their performance for GMA in Bryant Park this morning because of my show and rehearsals this weekend up here in western NY...but you can catch what they played here:
I am just about finished with posting all the NAVAR studio tracks from our 4 full length albums and 2003 EP. Demos, rare cuts and live tracks on the way. Benny is on but yet to blog. The other sleds will be on too once they find time to fit it into their busy schedules.
Show tomorrow night in Hornell, can't wait. Miss this...miss y'all. It's all about the music.
Expect old shit.
Seriously, it's on. Haven't felt this good about things since before the tour for "Touch of Class." It's on for real.
In my never ending quest to self promote...
Friends, lend me your hands. Check this out, retweet, forward and help win this song contest! http://contest.ny1.com/videos/93/ THANKS -PB
What do you think of it? It's not the next NAVAR album (in the works) but it's something new. I used the lyrics provided FYI :)
And I am writing, but it's words for notebooks...
I can't sleep and this is now day 2 of it. Pretty soon I will start underground bare knuckled boxing circuits in the surrounding cities and not even know it...
Everything is a copy of a copy of a copy...
First of all, buy this album now. It's incredible.
And
Go see my buddy Constantine's show Rock of Ages...he does a killer job and its great 80's rock fun.
Happy Hump Day.
I have a full band show…something that I haven’t had since the 3rd Base show last December. I have a full band show at Webster fucking Hall on April 22nd in NYC. Unreal.

Last week I got a copy of the new U2 album. I wasn't too thrilled with Boots when I first heard it but I was excited to hear what Bono and the boys had been working on so enthusiastically for the past couple years.
Let me tell you my 2 U2 stories and then I'll tell you about seeing them live on Letterman yesterday.
I wrote a new song tonight. I wrote something.
I don't feel like I have written in years and I think it's what has made me a little crazy. Out on the ridgeline that kept the United States Marine Corps base in 29 Palms in the shade from the Mojave Sun is where I started. I'd grab my notebook, pencil and pack of Camel Wides ('cause I felt that writers generally smoked...that the aftertaste somehow sparked brilliance and opened veins. I felt I still benefited from the nicotine without having to inhale) and trek up the side of the mountain. This is the time where I would cut myself with the words that I would write and find that even though the blood was flowin...I was actually healing myself. I was finding peace and closure with all the things that caused me pain.
This was before music. Before guitar. Before Navar. This was when I was a Lance Corporal in the USMC with a buzzed head, a desert sun burn and a broken heart.
